Hmmmm, very funny visual-"Junius, I'll give you 10 horny toads if you scout out that hill tomorrow morning and if you're back by six with a complete report I'll throw in a dung beetle."

I was thinking the inside of a horny toad's mouth- I've never seen what that looks like- but I guess the furry things on the side don't make sense, like for the snake.
Salt caves was just another wild guess- but I just realized it doesn't fit in the three categories you narrowed it down to earlier.

Salt or horny toads . . .  I guess the salt would be easier to carry.
Those Romans sure were smart!

Roman soldiers being paid in salt rations = origin of word 'salary'...... Useless bit of info number 576.....
Actually, thinking about it - people would kill for water on the ocean too. Cant really drink the sea, can you? "water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink..."

Rightyo then. Is it a picture of a sea-living creature?

Adam (desparate to sort this one out before ski hols tomorrow!)

Adam,

Enjoy your ski trip, and all the wet snow (or is it powder you want?) This will still be here when you get back if I am not backed into a corner.

Either way snow will be water again. And it will not have the salty blood a horny toad has. An addendum: a Roman paymaster may have had contact with one of these on occasion.

Karen mentioned sheep and, as water is important here, could it be a sheep's bladder?

OH, YOU CLEVER GIRL!
I almost gave it to you when you went through the analysis and figured out it was a herbivore tooth. Congratulations!

I do understand that some Camels do eat meat also but that Camels basicly swallow there food whole!! Some have very sharp teeth for shreding meats..etc.

What are the pellets made from, that are being fed to the Camel? Are they like alfalfa pellets or similar product for Camel instead of Rabits or Horses and such?

It really is cute!! Did you take the picture yourself Jim Bob? Do you all have a zoo or park you can go see these guys in.

We had a camel once years ago at our zoo and my brother got into a mess taunting the thing and was too close and it peed all over him.. I can barely remember the incident, I was very young, my mom screamed then backed up with us girls then she laughed like crazy because my brother was soaked and so mad.. It was his second time being targeted by an animal with waste products. The first was when he was teasing the chimpanzee Bill, Bill had taken all he was going to from my brother and my cousin, and he reached down grabbed a fist full of dung and nailed him with it as if he were a trained coached pitcher. The aim was pure perfection.. You would have thought he would have learned, but NO!!!!! LOL Not him!! hee hee hee!

Karen

Alas, I did not take it myself. I stole it from some copyrighted place on the internet. I got it a couple of years ago and saw it again. It was too much to resist.

My friend, Dick Butkis, you know the football guy  [?]  whom I have never met but whose name is perfect for this, are freezing off worse than a brass monkey's in the elements. It is 28° F, snowing with 1/2 inch ice on the ground and about 2/3rds of the weather models say this will persist for the next 4 or 5 days. Will I ever find Willie again in this weather?????? (My friend Willie, that is).

LOL LOL,

Yeperoos, It's been quite cold here also. Unusually so for where I am.. It has been 25 to 28 degress in the early hours although night before last was warmer but still frozen solid by morning... I gave in and bought a tiny tiny space heater, energy efficient and all. I could no longer take the cold.. My foot warmer was only keeping my toes warm.. LOL I hope your friend doesn't loose his way or freeze to DEATH!!! LOL
