OK, Neil - Here is the answer ======= It is a golf ball full of dimples that had been dipped in purple paint and then been wiped off. Unfortunately, this left the purple (lavender, fuscia, whatever) in the ball's dimples.

(Now that is a post with a lot of things to play with!)

It's a perfectly aligned pink rash on someones very shiny white hiney.
