If I take two small mapp gas torches and start them up, and put a crucible between them, by the combine power will they produce at least 2100 C? If I put something with a melting point of 2000 inside the crucible will it melt?

Not necessarily. The temperature of the contents of the crucible will depend on the rate of energy coming in and the ability of the crucible to radiate thermal energy. If the crucible has a small surface area, and cannot radiate heat efficiently then it will heat up to very nearly the temperature of the flames. But imagine, for instance, trying to heat a ridiculously huge flower pot of a crucible. It might not ever get hotter than a couple hundred degrees before it can radiate all of the incoming heat...

If we're going to to talk science, I suggest we use well-defined units of measurement. Inches, centimeters, even cubits. I don't want to have to convert the Stephan-Boltzmann constant into units of (skittle energy content) times (resting heart rate of a baby sloth) per (7-year-old's penis)² per (absolute fraction of a bad fever)⁴ that's just stupid...

Chiral I dont think u have any experience with mapp gas.  I will find an answer somewhere else.

You're right. I have not ever used mapp gas. I typically use propane (with or without added O2), and if I need to melt quartz, I use an oxygen-hydrogen torch.

Feel free to look for answers elsewhere--just be prepared to describe more effectively what you are trying to do...
