How Long Is a ' Moment ' ?
« on: 22/03/2007 23:02:33 »
Dearest Makers of My Awe !

Is there a designated unit of time that has been attributed to the ' moment ' ?

Take a moment or two to help me out here.

Thanks

Isn't  it just referring to a brief period of time without having a set time period. Maybe in a way to denote an event etc. A passage of a certain period of time in which an event or something of note took place?

That was a moment.

I don't think there is any standard measure but I am sure there is some stoned Grad Student with a government grant working on this at this very MOMENT!

Moment is apparently a contraction of movimentum (Chambers Dictionary of Etymology), which relates to any small movement or change (including, but not limited to, a small movement in time, but can also apply to a small change in weight).
