Maybe the chemical make up of the weight inside is different! Maybe lighter then water, but I also think there is more Carbonation in Regular soda so it contains more air pockets to allow floating. I always thought the sweetener in diet sodas caused them to be less bubbly and go flat way sooner. That is of coarse only a speculation on my part as I was an avid drinker of both coke and diet caffeine free coke at one point and there was definitely a discernible difference in the two!

Perhaps, but arent they usually about the same size and weight! As far as how much liquid is in them I mean and what the can is made of etc.. and can say the syrup in the regular one weigh less with the sugar content unless the artificial sweetner saccrin or whatever possibly is heavier by volume then regular sugar..might be ?? Me does not know...

Yes Karen,
Suger has a much higher molecular weight than aspertain, the sweetener used in Diet drinks. Many people believe it is hazardous to your health. I'll start another thread in Medicine.
