Thanks for this George...but what if the original amount of energy was created like a chain reaction from a tiny little spark thing (that required only a little bit of energy) ..and this little spark thing grew in a way using a physics that we just do not comprehend !! ?......am I making any sense at all ?
The original universe was created with a certain amount of energy. Any energy we use to start a new universe would have to be taken out of the energy we have inherited from the creation of our universe. If we were to create a new universe with as much energy as was given our universe when we were born, then we would have to use up all of the energy in our present universe, so we would have no universe left ourselves (that energy includes the energy bound up in mass, so we would not only lose all of our heat, we would also lose all of our mass in creating the new universe).
I meant create a "miniature" universe which would have much less mass energy than ours such that ours could still exist. Our universe would maintain its total mass energy as the new universe would be create within the current universe. It would not matter how much mass energy is in the new universe but the proportionality of mass energy would. However I'm thinking that on a quantum level this idea would not work but maybe the new universe would be created in a different way to ours and hence operate differently. This would also mean that the universe which created our universe would operate differently to ours.Anyway, this is only if we ever know how our universe operates or how to build a new universe. We would have sort out the whole space-time idea.
There are two issues.Firstly, it is likely that the way our universe behaves is intimately connected with the amount of energy it contains, and a universe with a very different energy content would very probably behave very differently to our universe.Secondly, you suggested that in each universe there might be a smaller universe, add infinitum. If each universe has a smaller amount of energy than its parent universe, then clearly the amount of energy used for the grandchildren and greatgrandchildren will become increasingly small - thus your idea could only work if there was no lower limit to the amount of energy one needed to create a universe (i.e. one might be able to create a battery powered universe, or even a wind up universe []).
