Nic has had a lot going on lately and it's kept me busy.  He had an awards ceremony last week, his 8th grade graduation, he was a prosecuting attorney in a mock trial, and he had a karate tournament this weekend. Hopefully with summer break approaching, he'll slow down for a few weeks.

Yes, he's been really busy.  BTW - He did very well in his tournament.  He came in 2nd place in katas, and 1st place in sparring.  His sensei says he thinks he'll be ready for semi knockout in July - I'm sooooo dreading that!!!  I'll post some new pics of him soon.

My roses aren't doing well this year at all.  Not sure whats going on with them.  I have two desert roses that are doing beautifully.  I'll try to get some pics of them soon.

I would love to see them. I have a picture a pastell of a little adobe home in the dessert it ha climbing dessert roses climbing the outside wall of the home it is a lovely pastel way old.. done by Ct Phillips, I cannot find anything on him, it was done along route 66 years ago and made out to my gran and my mom when she was small he signed it to them...1952 I think.. it is really cool. I wish I knew more about him.. I would love to see your roses . Are yours climbers or bush roses?

Yes, he brought home 2 trophies.  I didn't take videos of this tourny.....someone accidentally threw away my power cords to the camera, but I'll try to have video clips of the next one. 

Yes, he'll actually be fighting in the semi knockout, which I HATE!!!

Sounds like a beautiful picture!  I have 1 climber and the rest are just plain old bush roses.  I also have 4 knockout roses, but they arent' doing well either.  We havent' had rain in weeks, so that may be part of the problem, plus I'm having serious issues with moles.

Yes, he does.  If you knew him you would be surprised, he's a big old teddy bear, and really doesn't like conflict.  He really enjoys it though and is now working with weapons too.

Hey have you tried planting a bunch of marigolds around your roses, it helps with the gophers and the moles as these roots bulbs or whatever are poison.. it works pretty good if you use them to border off your roses....
