Sorry about your piano exam..! I have never heard of a piano exam! My daughter took lessons from my Highscholl friends MOM she was great.. I don't think she ever gave her an exam! LOL... Maybe different teachers are different.. I ha done pianist slap my daughters hands if her knuckles came up too far.. That was the end of that!  I won't have anyone slapping my child weather it be her hand or her tush! It made me mad and bothered me a great deal... I canceled her lessons! I wanted her lessons to be fun not a pain or something she would hate. My friends mother was wonderful! Made a huge difference in how Sarah looked atthe piano!

It's an English thing.. All instruments, or most instrument have "grade" exams..

They are from grade 1 to 8. After grade 8, you can take degrees and diplomas, allowing you to teach..

I'm going to take my grade 8 exam.. []

I tried to learn piano when I was younger, but I guess I was not young enough to be forced to do it. I wish I had been sometimes. Perhaps sometime I will try and learn it again, or maybe some other instrument.....who knows  []
