Slightly scary moment - here's a picture of me hiking in the Alps last year. We went around the Matterhorn in some fabulous weather!

going back a little bit in the discussion... when i was little and i heard my parents walking around in the hall and it woke me up, i'd often jump out of bed and get ready for school. so one night i'm sleeping and i hear my mom in the bathroom and i got up and got dressed and went out in the hallway... and then my mom told me that she was getting ready for bed, not for work. lol

another time i came home from school and i must have fallen asleep... i woke up and my clock said 7:15. school started at 7:10. i ran out of my room. my brother and sister were sitting in their pajamas eating cereal. so i asked my mom if she could take me to school because i was late. she thought i was late for play practice. so we got in the car... left the house... and then i finally figured out that it was seven pm, not seven am. sometimes 24 hour time would be handy...

LOL Yes it would be.. LOL I have done the same on Saturday got all dressed and ran out the door to get to the school and find I was alone for a few after I set up the room I realized oh my gosh it isnot even a school no kiddies were coming to play! I was bummed and went home sulking! LOL!

ha ha. i tried to go to school on a snow day once. i was standing at the school bus stop and the snow was up to my knees, but the road looked ok. i didn't think to check the news. i guess my mom didn't either. the neighbor came out and told me after i stood there for a while...

We hardly get snow here! You have to usually drive a few miles up the mountain for that. Once in a while!

Well, I was with some work friends, and so the family was at home. Don't worry - it's all fair! My wife took a long weekend visiting her brother in Spain a little before, and so I was at home with the boys. They're 2 and nearly 4. Sure I've got some pics somewhere...........

I've done some skiing in the Alps too - which resort did you go to? Risoul is great, with a big snow bowl at the top of the resort. I expect you're a proficient skier?

This was a fabulous walk. If you're interested, the trail started in Zermatt, and went over the Hohbalm and down to the glacier. It was about 20km, and had perhaps 1200m total elevation, so not easy, but not difficult (?). We staarted at about 7 am, had time for an hours kip halfway, and were back in time to watch England lose against Portugal. The Matterhorn has to be the most impressive mountain I've ever seen - I happened to fly over it a couple of weeks ago, and its still impressive from the air.
