How much time does it take for an electromagnetic field to enter your eye?
« on: 08/06/2018 12:41:36 »
As title question.

The Suns electromagnetic field for example.

Why is it that I can probably guess what you are going to say?  ;)

Ok, here is my take on it:
For something to enter it has to move a distance so knowing that distance and the speed, in this case c, we can calculate the time taken. Question is “what is the distance”? Some might say the thickness of the eye covering, so we are talking about the corneal epithelium andthe precorneal tear film (PCTF).

Before we find out how thick that layer is, can I guess that you are going to suggest a 0 thickness for the threshold hence instantaneous entry, suggesting light travels instantaneously?
    OK, I deserve that.

I did not mention light, but now I hope you can understand my notions about light.

What if electromagnetic radiation was always in your eyes , even with eye lids shut?

Hence no distance at all to travel.

Could that be a possibility when considering entanglement?

    I did not mention light,
If you mention eye, and EMR from the sun, folks are going to think you mean light, so you need to be more specific.
Yes, radio waves can enter your eyes with eylids closed, but the eye won’t detect them, and they pass straight through and that takes time. They aren’t there all the time.

I think you should catch up on the research of Ibn al-Haytham (960-1040AD), who had radical ideas about how light enters the eye.
Apparently, he developed his ideas while he was in prison, seeing a light ray entering his prison cell.
He corrected the erroneous ideas of Euclid & Ptolemy which had held sway for over a millennium; these ancient philosophers mistakenly believed that light and vision originated in the eye.

    See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibn_al-Haytham#Theory_of_optics

Hint: Light enters the eye even without entanglement.
As for how light interacts with biological molecules like chlorophyll, there are hints that there is some quantum-mechanical weirdness happening there.

So what do you not understand that you keep assuming is nonsense?

Because if you keep declaring it nonsense, we can see quite clearly that you are just pretending not to understand the subject.

Have you conceded to me ?

You do not understand it, and so you do not realise that it is nonsense.

There's nothing meaningful for me to concede.

Ok, so you claim to understand the subject, educate me to the topic title and the speed of electromagnetic radiation entering your eyes. You are saying your eye lids stop all lengths of electromagnet radiation passing into your brain functions space.

    How is that possible ?

Hmmmm,  I said gamma rays, x-rays enter your eye, you said nonsense, therefore you did say that unintentionally.  Perhaps you could be a bit more considerate when you post.

How can ''energy'' ever be isolated?  Energy can only be 'isolated' by energy.

So how can the energy inside of my brain be isolated from anything else?

I can see an object a distance away , I can see every point of that distance if looking at the ground.  How is that not entangled?
