Another one.

Hear 12, say 6, you're in.
Hear 6, say 3, you're in.
Hear 10, say 5, you're out.

Eh, eh, what's dat you say?  Try to be frenchies?  Let's see, we in Alberta would have to stop contributing to the economic health of the country, create a bajillion little bureaucracies to hide the fact that we are siphoning millions, resign as leader and run off to Denmark to join our cohorts.  Meanwhile Canadians would sit by apathetically and let it happen, so we never go to jail (like any other criminals would).  Maybe you've got a good idea!

As for the riddle; most people speak twice as much as they hear don't they?

Could be:
Accounting (bringing home the bacon)
The meat of the matter
Heavy math
It ain't the meat it's the motion
A side of math, or all math aside (side bacon)
Math's back (back bacon)
The pig's days were numbered

You could go about a million different ways with this.
