I happen to have an acre right next door to me for sale,  perfect to build a lovely house on and be near the sea!

It's nice - on a breezy evening you can hear the waves........but.........

Hurricane season is a comin - and that can be just a little scary.

LOL...I still don't qualify to take to the entrance exam for an IQ test !!

I never took an IQ test in me life till I took whatever one was on the forum some time back! LOL Something tells me I did not score that great! LOL I can't remember where I fell in the scoring department...LOL

They are all so different.  When I took mine (in the dinosaur ages) it was all day and they watched me behind a window...I grew tired of the testing and the last 3 pages, I just started marking off everything and writing whatever was on my mind...I was sick of taking the test all day...I am sure he is much more intelligent than I was at that time and will be a good tester!

It is a beautiful place to live.. California we don't worry about hurricanes here along our coast although we had one years ago.. But not as bad as some..

California has earthquakes and Florida has hurricanes....hmmm, what choices!  Texas has tornados!  LOL

Earth quakes are and can be terrible and I live on the San Andreas fault line so it is quaky here, but I would be more terrified of a tornado!

Hey Lo, my friend who made my computer went on last night and up graded my Mozilla Firefox and it has a spell check that checks as you type..underlines any mistakes as you go! Very cool!

Me too!  I have lived around them all my life and I know the destruction they cause and have been up close to a few before...it amazes me that people never take it seriously though such as my bossy here when I had to run an emergency plan here!  She was on the phone with me and said, "be careful" uh, don't you think that if the power went out and the siren's are blaring(meaning one has hit the ground within a few miles away) she would be much more concerned about just being thankful I am here running the show...

I have a whole procedure book on all disasters if they were to happen and what to do...I had to do it for my first job...no one knew what to do here!

That is pretty scary! I can no imagine my whole home lifted and wiped away.Earthquake may knock it down, but some how that seems milder..Thats odd huh? Maybe a fear of the unknown a bit.. had a lot of that lately.. I have never been through a tornado!

Yes, it is!  Sad too for most people who have suffered such a disaster.  Fearing the unknown would be pretty tough to get through too.  I am glad you have never been through one...I hope you never have to even go through an earthquake...Carolyn, have you been in a hurricane?

I've been through tornados and hurricanes. The last one was Dennis in July '05 - we did not evacuate and I was terrified.  It devasted our town.  This picture is just a few miles from our house.  Lots of homes and businesses were destroyed and the beach erosion was horrible, we were fortunate, we didn't have any damage other than some tree limbs down.
