Archimedes

Found mostly in the Caspian Sea, these huge artifacts are large wooden boats that carried the Medes in the 6th century BC.

AH yes, true to your moniker. However, assuming his photo to be a fair and accurate representation of his personal proclivity, I am assuming dentstudent is male.

Now, sir, would you care to rephrase?

JimBob - Your question was "But what can you do with someone who speaks German fluently??". Where in that sentence is there a reference to Stuart?

Your use of the word "someone" infers a non-specific person & my reply was based on that inference.

Stu has posted about his German travels posted with a sucking pig and the Alps - from what I could gather he was in Germany and Austria at the time. The most telling point is that his profile lists Germany as his place of residence. So .......

Using the "someone" was a rhetorical device.

Just what I expected, a mature response.

If you need that explained, it is:

IRONY

i-ro-ny (ie'ruh nee, ie'uhr-)  n. pl. <-nies>
                  1.  the use of words to convey a meaning that
is the opposite of its literal meaning.
                  2.  SOCRATIC IRONY.
                  3.  DRAMATIC IRONY.
                  4.  an outcome of events contrary to what
was, or might have been, expected.
                  5.  the incongruity of this.
                  6.  an objectively sardonic style of speech
                       or writing.
                  7.  an objectively or humorously sardonic
                       utterance, disposition, quality, etc.
             [1495-1505; (< MF ironie) < L ironia < Gk eironeía
feigned ignorance, false modesty = eíron one who
hides his or her true knowledge or capabilities +
             -eia - Y 3]

I think "sarcasm" is a more appropriate word than "irony"
