How Subtle Is The Edge Of A Cloud ?
« on: 05/05/2007 19:08:51 »
Dear Cloud Lovers,

is the edge of a cloud a well defined edge ?..ie: one second you're out of the cloud..the next you're in it....?...or does it start off diluted and increase in density ?

From ground level they look still and defined ?.....but I was to be able to float a few feet away from a could would I see a turbulent mish mash of cloud moving fun ?

Would a white cloud be busier than a Grey cloud ?

It depends on the cloud - a cirrus one - the high wispy ones I would have thought can be km thick and still not be opaque, however a cumulous cloud is going to be as thick as a thick fog - so you could probably only see a few 10s of metres through it.
