QotW - 20.03.15 - Could a sealed terrarium provide enough oxygen for my frogs?
« on: 02/04/2020 15:45:51 »
It's coming a little late, apologies, but here's the question of the week for this Sunday:

I just purchased some dart frogs which need to live in high humidity conditions. In order to attain this we basically sealed off the terrariums. The question is whether a really sealed terrarium could provide enough oxygen for the frogs through plant photosynthesis.

It's from listener Jon, who also provides some other details: the terrariums are 18 inches by 18 inches by 24 inches, with about 5 inches of dirt and leaf littler and moss.

Jon also says, "I'm not really worried, just curious: who would win, the frogs or the plants?"

Who can help out?
