Probably for the same reason they are not prescribed for other things.
For example, it's true that amphetamines are (more or less) effective as a weight loss drug. But they tended to kill people, and/ or leave them with psychosis or addiction problems.

Other drugs were found to have a better "success rate" / "failure rate"

I could guess, but the irony would be too great, given that it's Friday night and I have  a blood alcohol level of "nearly flammable".

Amsterdam ? Cocaine is a far more effective and natural stimulant. Given that doctors are prescribing drugs the cocaine isnot illegal thus there is no exorbitant cost due to the blackmarket , and is thus quite cheap also. Of course corona patients do not need to inhale either the amphetamine or cocaine  due to the problems of lung inflammatiin and coughing the gear back up, which is good really as doctors would not know how much of the drug had been absorbed, an OD'ing coronal may give doctors a few headaches. Rubbing the stuff into the patients gums is a far safer alternative, but perhaps 20 BnH fags would perk them up just as well.

FFS what has "natural" got to do with this?
Death is natural.

COVID-19 is bad enough when it's clean. The thought of a rampant virus getting high on Speed is quite disturbing.

OK amphetamines and ephedrine both dry up mucous, which apparently corona does produce masses of, listening to a show on the 1919 flu they stated that in China, the mortality rate was 30% lower than the average nations, because they used Peonies which have a high ephedrine content, now having hopped up patients instead of the sedated ones would be problematic, but I still don't know why it is not prescribed as MD's would be able to administer a correct dosage as opposed to the street user who would know little about dosage and just gobble up what is in front of them.
Yes I know flu and corona are not the same but both are respiratory ailments.

The idea is not to stimulate the patient but deal with mucous production, cocaine would be hopeless a little euphoria but still delirious and taking vital resources from the immune system! 8)

I have to admit I did not consider the virus, being subject to amphetamines, but we only evolve through viral interactions, as does all life.
