Is the extraordinary hot sunny and dry spring because of gods wrath at corona ?
« on: 01/06/2020 20:22:41 »
Talking to someone yesterday and remarkingupon the spring weather, the subject of religious/superstitious/mystical inkage to the corona pandemic. Now being the hot bed of theological debate the naked scientists is, I thought "where better to post a question on spiritualism other than TNS?", so I sat down and typed. This, I am typing this now, right now.

Anywhooo, do you think that The Corona and the spring we have had are due to a vengeful and jealous god ?

The same article says that February was the wettest on record. So, like the UK government, the jealous and vengeful god seems not to have a definite plan. Pretty well describes the President of the USA  too - jealous, vengeful, lacking any coherent direction, and believing in his own deity.

Not in Australia, it isn't...

In February, Australia was just getting over some of the worst bushfires on record...

There could be a connection between unprecedented-sunshine & corona ...
Corona has reduced air-travel, air-travel seeds clouds, clouds block sunshine.

(Having said that the trend in recent years was for record-breaking hotness).

At they beginning of May my central heater failed and the outside temperature hung around 7°C I broke my rules and used the electricity supply for heating and of course since the boiler has been overhauled the temperatures have been in the low twenties I do not look back on May as a real hot month though very dry

This is a really interesting question. Although I like to stay on the ground of facts and don't wonder about why this is happening to us. I also highly recommend reading this article about self diagnosing Corona so you know when you are a dangerous person for the people around you (https://www.medmeister.de/coronavirus-test/ [nofollow]). It's in german but easily translated. But I honestly love the question.

Meanwhile climate scientists at the University of Reading (definitely a center of excellence) report that reduced air pollution has increased solar heating of the surface.

So you can't win! More human activity = more CO2 = more heating. Less activity = more sun = more heating. We are doomed whatever we do.
