Might COVID-19 be linked to a gammaretrovirus?

Here's a question from listener Euan:
I am interested to follow up things I have read by Judy Mikovits about gammaretroviruses. Can gammaretroviruses trigger diseases such as chronic fatigue syndrome, certain kinds of autism, cancers, leukemias and lymphomas? Can SARS-CoV-2 activate or wake up a dormant retrovirus infection that then causes the symptoms of COVID-19?
What do we think? As far as I'm aware the link between a gammaretrovirus and CFS comes from a retracted Science article and was found not to hold weight.

As far as I can tell, the gammaretroviruses and the coronaviruses are about as closely related as me and a jellyfish. So, I don't think there's anything to see here.
