Top ten medical breakthroughs the past four decades?

1. Hemorrhoidal cream.
2. The pill.
3. Allergy shots.
4. Paxil.
5. Daunorubicin.
6. Sildenafil.
7. MRI.
8. Nembutal
9. Forget-me-not (a pill used after consensual sex where one party induces the other party with a little amnesia so they don't remember how bad the sex was.
10. What ever pill(s) that are responsible putting an almost complete stop to the AIDS epidemic in the developed word..

The first commercial MRI machine was manufactured in 1980, so I guess it missed the "four decades" mark by a few months, but the first installation of a routine clinical machine (as distinct from laboratory lashups) in the UK was in 1984, which made the cut in my book.
