Do you know where the water you drink has been?
« on: 13/07/2021 16:39:05 »
Do you know where the water you drink has been? In every glass of water there are more molecules than all the litres of water ever consumed by the human race. During our life the water that we consume has passed through every living creature and has been in contact with every facet of our planet so drink up and enjoy the world within us. That means that at some time we have drunk a little bit of our own great grandparents and that is after they passed. Sorry to put a damper on the topic.

I used to live in London, and the joke was that the water had been through 6 sets of human kidneys.
It was an exaggeration but...

This is a bit off topic but there is a little town here in Australia where the town people were complaining about the taste and smell of their tap water long story short the authority found a dead man in the town water tower.

The water we drink comes from dams that collect water from the fields that flow over dead and decaying animals but we have little friends in the ground and in the dams called microorganisms they break down the nasties and make the water safe.

According to what we know about the Earth formation and extraterrestrial influence of asteroids, comets, etc., during our planets' life, the whole water that we have has been always here.
Hence, we drink the same molecules as our not so far ancestors as well hundreds of millions ones.
Human and not human thirsty species ever inhabited the Earth.
