I work on music like Newton works on physics: scientific method, hypotheses, experiments, inference of universal fundamental laws, and engineering (of music) based in the fundamental laws. I accomplish less in 30 years than Newton did in a couple of years, but I still have accomplished a lot. My A.I. is composing comparably to Beethoven, Lady Gaga, Suge Knight, depending on my setting the parameters. It composes a thousand times better than I do when I try to compose on my own.

Frustrated by Sympy, Maple, Mathematica, and Maxima, I made my own substitute. It doesn't know nearly all the math Mathematica knows, but for my purposes, my language is better. It has first class anonymous functions, OOP. My language is great.

I thought it would end with me patenting a technology that makes decent music. Instead I have made technology that makes better music than humans. It would be a big deal. But I have had a horrible time from humans along the way, injured and exploited by M.D.'s wrongfully imprisoned by corrupt police and low-IQ judge, with no protest from anyone. If I got a billion dollars for a patent, useless to me, because too physically ill to spend any. So I don't put this in the New Theories forum or publish my work, I take it to the grave.

I can't use money, so if I spent time making it, I'd be bad at business. Real quick, something killed my mother, then spread to me, and doctors spent ten seconds before declaring me hypochondriac. Health department messed up when I showed them evidence. DOJ charged me with an email threat, decided to commit me, needed an excuse, so said my symptoms were imaginary as their excuse. Six years, USA calling me a delusional idiot. I'm just dying now, I can't use money.

I'm trying to make good pop music. It serves a purpose. Easy to sing melodies, rhythm is what people expect for dance. I can appreciate that top 40 music is better than my early attempts to make top 40 music. They have some talent I did not. Now I'm catching up. Easier for me to get synths sounding good than to spend the time getting other instruments sounding good. My A.I. doesn't do that part, it's lots of work for me.

P.S., and for vocals I got Yamaha Vocaloid Cyber Diva, and she makes pop music fun.

The phrase "comparably to" includes the situation where the comparison is made and the AI is found to be appallingly bad, compared to those musicians.

The test of "goodness" of music is really one of longevity. Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Handel, Haydn, Sousa, Bernstein....still fill the airwaves and the concert halls when they aren't backing TV commercials. The common thread seems to be that each piece was composed for a purpose or an occasion, not speculatively to make money, so every memorable composition says something more than "ah lurv ya" or "life is sh1t on da street".

Funny how the 3-minute song has become the staple of popular music. It was invented to put jazz (where the song can be as long or short as you like) onto Edison wax cylinders, and the 180-second discipline was adopted quite unnecessarily by makers of vinyl records because "that's how jazz is", hence all ballroom and pop music ever since!

Serious students like Chuck Berry and The Beatles managed to tell a story in three minutes, but few others have done so, and their work has gone to landfill in consequence.

One major in music, a second major in A.I., six years in jail reading Bach and Beethoven scores, read every English theory book and some unpublished ones and some untranslated ones. Read Gauss and Euler.

Yes but willing to put money on it, unless that violates laws. If we could define a way to measure musical success, I'll bet money I can do it. The difference between me and just some guy. Or without hearing the music, you could look at my whole life and see, if anyone, this guys seems like a good candidate for doing what he says; every test along the way, he aced.

You'll become unproductive too someday. Nothing odd about that part; what's odd is the circumstances surrounding my death. It was odd everyone acted like they wanted to contract this transmissible infectious disease; no one tried to control its transmission, and Arizona and U.S. DOJ punished me for reporting my findings about it.
