Can blood-flow in the eye change your eye colour?
« on: 14/06/2007 09:07:28 »
I've been told that my eye colour changes with my mood - I guess this may affect blood-flow within the eye, which may alter refraction capacities, and hence get a change in colour. Is this possible? Does the colour of light entering the eye also affect their colour?

I have seen similar.. My husbands eyes do that although I have never noticed a mood difference but it is possible as I wasn't looking for one.

Some glaucoma medications have a side effect that Increases the colouring of the iris. But i don't know if your "mood" can change the colour.

Violet eyes are due to a blue iris and red blood vessels,
so vasodilation could change the colour of a violet eye.
Emotions can cause vasodilation, e.g. blushing, anger.
