I was sitting on the train today, and I thought to myself that I much prefer to sit going forward....with plenty of spaces left on the train , there were still people who sat going backwards...why ?...is it not inherent in us to prefer facing the direction we are travelling ? Do we not have a prediliction for moving forward ?...and  if we do , then why ?...why does it feel better as a passenger to face forwards when travelling ? especially when we are not doing the driving or using our legs.

And why do I ask these silly mundane morose questions ?

It's probably just you (I don't mind at all travelling backwards) but if you suffer from travel sickness, I guess it's probably easier to cope with signals that say you're going forward than backwards so you get sick less.

Thanks Quanty Kitty !!...yep !!..ok, t'is just me...but I never suffer from travel sickness, never have ....So...it's a little 'forward' trait that I will treasure and call my own.

Thanks Just......I do like looking out the window and certainly prefer to see what is coming rather than where I have been......but I just still think there's something more to it than a personal preference.....

Welcome back Neil, nice to see you posting again.

Isn't it safer travelling backwards or is that just something I've picked up along the way, or maybe that's just aeroplanes.

Thanks T G, it's good to be back....Hmmm..that's an interesting point about it being safer (perhaps) to travel backwards......But I just 'feel' right to be facing the direction I'm going....is it really just me then ?....now that I think about it though, I may have heard something about the safety benefits of facing aginst the flow....maybe it was in planes......I still want to face forwards though
