Help: epitope N1 peptide SARS nucleocapside
« on: 18/08/2022 18:33:01 »
Hello,
can anyone tell me if the epitope N1 peptide (Sequence: PTDSTDNNQNGGRNGARPKQRRPQ) of the nucleocapsid protein N, in case of contact or accidental inhalation could produce the same toxic effects as the whole protein N?

Quote from: OP
the same toxic effects as the whole protein N
The SARS-COV2 nucleocapsid protein is most dangerous when it encapsulates the RNA of an intact coronavirus.
- Infection by just one virus particle can wreak havoc in the body
- However, inhaling the same number of proteins by themselves will not be noticeable to the body.

If you took a jar of this protein, and sniffed it, it might:
- make you sneeze,
- it might give you an allergy
- If you have been exposed to this protein during a COVID infection, you might develop inflammation and/or a fever as your antibodies trigger your immune system into action
- but it's not particularly toxic.
