Everone in hibernation?
« on: 10/11/2023 18:33:17 »
Very quiet around here lately, has hibernation taken hold? Only our esteemed colleague Hamdani seems to be active. I normally start my hibernation around the start of November under a pile of cosy dry leaves expecting to surface in early March. Come to think of it, i'm late starting this year.

It does seem pretty quiet, doesn't it? Haha, I guess we're all feeling a bit like bears ready to hibernate. Maybe Hamdani is the bear that's not ready to snooze yet! I usually start my hibernation mode a bit later too, but it looks like it's time to cozy up and embrace the chill.

I have been worrying about how quiet the forum has been.. It needs some activity... Hey what is the winter amounting to in your part of the world right now?

Hi Karen, here on the east coast of Ireland its around 5-8?c, fairly dry, but it feels colder. If it stays dry I should be able to gather up enough dry leaves to burrow into for my upcoming hibernation.

Oh about 44 to 46 degrees fahrenheit then.. not too bad.. it's about 55 degrees here right now and it's been raining. My Huge Catalpa tree is dropping it's dinner plate size leaves all over my patio and they are looking pretty brown and soggy right now! I need to go out and clean up this round as they can become slippery . The maples are too. My ferns have died back and need trimmed also. I'm spending my nights by the fire and enjoying the season. Hot cocoa and spiced cider with a warm blanket and a project and some soothing music, or movie, usually both. I find puzzles stimulating at times when my brain wants a break.. its quite relaxing.. LOL.. Do you enjoy any fun activities while your hibernating?  LOL
