These were taken using my Fuji S5500. It's got a fabulous telephoto. I was at least 200yds from them. And I wasn't using a tripod; just holding the camera steady using a fast shutter speed.

I take my Fuji around with me practically everywhere & keep the Canon for specific shoots.

Thanks for the great photos!

That deer was aware of you even though you were over 200 yards away, amazing.

Thanks, Bernard. I'm pleased with that 1 of the young stag. As you said, he was obviously aware of me (or certainly appears to have been) even though I was that far away behind a bush.

It Takes Great pictures.. I know nothing about cameras.. Mine is supposed to do other stuff IE video etc.. but I don't know how to do it! I just learned how to erase them and upload them and I have had the camera almost a year now! LOL!~

What camera is it? I may be able to give you a few tips.

I'm a camera addict - still & video. I've got the Fuji, Canon EOS IID & a Samsung, another 1 I can't remember the make of that I use just for snapshots, a mini-cam the size of a matchbox, plus a Canon, a Sony & 2 Panasonic video cameras, 1 of which is broadcast quality.

I've got 4 full-size tripods including a Bilora fluid head with spirit level, mini-pods, clamp-pods, various spotlights & other gadgets.

Fujis are good cameras.

Is yours a point-and-shoot? If so, there should be a dial with symbols on it. The camera symbol is for ordinary pics and the video cam symbol for mpegs. That's all you need to know really.

It sounds a bit like my Fuji. I've got all sorts of on-screen options for resolution, shutter speed, aperture, multi-shot, etc, but also got the selector dial. It's also got mpeg capability with sound & can be used as a webcam.

I don't think you get sound with those & I'm pretty sure you can't fit other lenses either.

This is my Fuji.

It's got sound for movies & voice memos (voice memos can be attached to photos), & there are additional lenses for it. There's a pop-up, 3-mode flash on the top.

The on;y difference between mine & the 1 in the pics is that I've got a 512MbXD card in mine & this 1 only has 128Mb which you can see in the side shot.

Morning Doc - I have 2 questions.....

Red deer or Roe?

and,

Did you consider the Canon D40 / D50 range? If you did, then what made you buy the Fuji?

I believe they are red deer.

I chose the Fuji as it's under £200 and much higher spec than the D40/50.
