I believe that is the DBS?

Beautiful car but handles, as Clarkson may say, like a greasy weasel.

Ah well, it takes one to know one! (Clarkson that is!)

It's a DB6 Volante SWB. I don't think that I would be driving it for speed either - purely tour-mode. For "speed" (not necessarily top speed, but "fun speed"), it would be a Lotus Exige:

Em and I had an Elise as our wedding car - I'm glad it was dry too!

Well, that's fair enough. It's certainly a classic! I think I'm influenced by an old girlfriend whose father had a couple of DB4's. We used to go racing at Brands, so it has some sort of evocative attachment too.

I'm wondering if your Volante has a Mustang flavour to it? The nose looks similar, at least, with the deep-set headlights.

Yes, that's right. I know nothing of it's temperament, though he has a photo of his dashboard when he was doing about 170 - but the thing is, he was only pulling 4 or 5 thousand revs. I'm pretty sure, anyway, but it wasn't very many. I think it was the world's fastest production car for a period.

Not sure about it being the world's fastest production car, but it was certainly the fastest sports saloon by quite a margin.

I remember the police asked for it to be banned as they had nothing that could catch it.
