Where Is Evolution Leading Humans Now?
« on: 21/08/2025 17:53:09 »
Evolution usually favors the more fit, the most resistant to disease and whoever carries their genes to the next generation. I once heard a columnist speculate who all of those might be in humans. So where is evolution leading humans in the 21st century, and beyond?

And I'd like to start the conversation by saying, probably not where we think. Humans have taken over the birthing and conceiving process. With selective breeding since ancient times. But also things like in vitro fertilization, genetic counseling and even abortion sometimes.

Evolution is an effect, not a cause. But it is quite clear that homo sapiens as a whole is becoming increasingly fragile and unsustainable.
