why does my stomach grumble when im hungry?

Hi! I take Synthroid for my thyroid an hour before breakfast.
I'm also supposed to take calcium supplements for my bones.
But the Synthroid instructions say that I shouldn't take calcium for 4 hours
after, so I keep forgetting to take my calcium.
Is there any type or calcium I can take in the morning
that won't interfere with the Synthroid?

I would have to say that your stomach grumbles for just the same reason that you get that gurggly sound when you gurgle liquids in your throat...it is a rapid contraction/relaxation of muscles.  This probably developed as a genetic fluke but since it serves as a great warning that you need nourishment, it has survived.  Just a guess.

I though it was due to the fact that we swallow air as we eat and drink and that it goes with our food to the digestive system.  As the system contracts and relaxes by peristalsis, the grumbling is from air moving around in the large intestine as it is pressurised.
