Do Cough medicines work at all ?.......do they ?

Cos I think they're crap !!....How are they supposed to do what they are supposed to do ?

Is it via coating the throat or via the digestion of the ingredients ?

MY mom used Vicks formula 44 every night drank it straight from the bottle.. I think it was the alcohol content.. as it would knock her out cold! She had a sleep problem like mine.. So she always took stuff to sleep!

I honestly don't think it helps not me anyway! I just take an antihistimine to dry the nose up and then the cough stops!

the only kind that works for me is the kind from the doctor.it's... orange. i can't remember what it's called but it's orange and tastes orange and it's really thick

Wow that stuff sounds pretty potent morphine and peppermint oil.. There must be a much looser guideline on drugs there I would have to have a triplicate to buy a medication like that I would think here, just because of the morphine unless it is in such a small dosage that it would negate the need for a triplicate!
