After the carpet is totally dry not before, sprinkle some backing soda where the smell is and allow it to set a bit then vacumn it off. Baking soda absorbs odor. Don't do it until it is thoroughly dry or you will have caked on baking soda that will be difficult to remove..LOL

Baking soda also absorbs moisture then dries hard as a rock.. give it a couple days sEWE the pad dries also! OK!

I don't know read the box, i have heard people just dampen their brush and dip in small bowl of baking soda but I am not sure if that ie the recommended procedure!
