Karen - the capybara is the world's largest rodent (the only rodent larger than a beaver) and, like the beaver, they are semi-aquatic. They can grow to 2' high & weigh 100lbs. If you happen to meet 1, speak to it in Spanish as they hail from S America.

Capybaras had never really caught my attention when i had seen pictures of them on the internet or in books. But when i saw them in real life- i was just taken aback by their size. They look like huge, muscular guinea pigs. Fantastic!
