The film Third Eye Spies markets itself as 'a true story'.
Near-death experiences (NDE) also provide evidence that consciousness may not originate in the brain.
There are people with only 5-10% brain tissue who lead a normal life with a wife and two children, work as municipal officials, and sometimes even have a high IQ and can obtain an academic degree.
Consciousness ... It is connected to the 2nd law.
Neurons pump and exchange sodium and potassium cations to create a membrane potential. The segregation of cations also creates an entropic potential; lowers entropy. These segregated ions in water would prefer to blend to form a uniform solution to maximize entropy; 2nd law. However, being segregated via the constant expenditure of ATP energy and the use of enzymes, the segregation opposes the 2nd law and contains free energy in the form of entropic potential. Neurons are destined to build up a natural 2nd law push toward higher complexity that exceeds ambient conditions. Neurons are also designed to fire, to help lower this free energy and to increase entropy and complexity; natural learning and memory potential via changes in neuron hardware; axons, dendrites and synapses. These all adjust to the flow of free energy and the entropic potential. Entropic is more like a wild card with one affect consciousness.

entropy is not as predictable.
For example, water at 25C and 1 atm has a fixed value of entropy.
