While innocently browsing the internet I accidentally encountered film of this strange sexual practice.
I can see that it may be pleasurable to the male party but what does the woman get out of if apart from pleasing her partner.
I understand that that the consumption of seminal fluid is a possible aid to childbirth but that could not account for the prevalence of the practice

If you keep looking at the sorts of webpages that you have clearly been surveying, you'll doubtless see that men indulge in the equivalent practice for their female partners. And, in fact, many members of the animal kingdom display some of these sorts of behaviours as part of their courtship or mating rituals.

In the human case, the bottom line, if you'll excuse the pun, is to provide pleasure for the partner, usually with the expectation of reciprocation.

How on Earth would the consumption of sperm be helpful for anything? There's no way sperm could reach the vaginal ovule using this route.

Oral sex is an interesting combination of giving pleasure to your partner whilst exercising control. If you want a one-word answer to the question, it is "fun". But that may be a fellatious argument.
