I have noted this thread has been bordering on the sensible at times (11.26 am & 5.44 pm to be exact).

Can we please get down to brass tacks, not that I have any particular affinity to brass tacks, neither do I have any particular objection to them. Brass tacks are very useful when utilised in an appropriate situation, but otherwise serve little or no purpose. For example one would find brass tacks a definite bonus when laying a carpet, but could not be applied in any way shape or form when preparing a Mango and Apple smoothie.

I shall be glad to elaborate on the above if anyone is stupid enough to ask.

If I make a guess I would say that 'borte borte' could be translated as 'away away'?
And 'har de godt' in Danish, would mean 'are you having an Ok/well time',
But if said at the end of a meeting it could mean 'have a good time' perhaps?

I'm not that good at Danish, but it's cool all the same.
As for 'tit' I do get ideas.

But i kind of liked the idea of a plastic sheet?

This might be a cheap version of what the SAS actually do in the desert:

1. Review any maps for indications of water. Many desert maps mark the location of groundwater in the region.
2. Look for other signs of life in the area. Desert animals and plants also need water to survive and if they are around, it's a sure sign that water, in some form, is close by.
3. Check dried up riverbeds. If the ground is still damp in the riverbed, it means water is just underneath the surface and digging a small hole to find out for sure, would be worth your time.
4. Stay vigilant for morning dew and rainstorms. Even desert plants have dew on their leaves in the morning, though this method will not provide much water, it is better than none.
5. Fill makeshift rain collectors with rain during storms. Whatever you have that can hold water, place on the ground during a storm. Be quick as the storm could be brief.
6. Cut open cactus and suck water from pulp inside. Some desert plants store water and a few well-placed cuts into stems may uncover extra drinking water.
7. Search pockets of rocks for ground water. Shaded rocks hold the chance that past rainwater has not evaporated. Be sure to check that there are no small animal carcasses nearby and this could indicate that the water is bad to drink.

Its a place where they never have the thing you want for your car, if they know what your car is. You will always get something that looks like the right bit but you won't discover its the wrong bit until you get home. There is never anybody on the till either, I think it should be a rule that if nobody is on the till you can have it for free.
