Awwww, poor baby...hang in there lil sheepie!
Most common abacuses have two groups of counters in each row, a group of 5 and a group of 2. The idea is that, since 2 x 5 = 10, so each row can count up to 10.The abacus you showed had two groups of counters on each row, but they were two groups of 5 counters, and 5 x 5 = 25. So each row can count to 25 before you move to the next row.
