It won't change human nature. Some will slack off, but so they do now too. Some will try to game it for what they think is profits, but they will be the same then as today. We all meet those kind of people, but they are still a extreme. The majority of us do understand why we study, why we work, and how it benefits ourselves and our society. And those extremes will shrink as people becomes more knowledgeable, finding it harder to recruit proselytes.

It will make you independent

It's more of a question of how you want life and society to be than it is about its 'costs'. The 'costs' for having a expensive medical machine available for your health is the same when it stands idle as when it is used, well, there is the electricity used but that is negligible compared to the costs of developing, constructing and maintenance.

Trying this recipe, keeping the social and societal infra structures you have today is rather meaningless. You will need to restructure it to make it work, some institutions changing as with social welfare, and some institutions disappearing, like those connected to you being out of work. Instead there will be a guarantee of a citizens wage, a paycheck and education, for as long as you live.

It doesn't mean you wouldn't make more working, it's just a safety net, one allowing you to change track.

Another consequence of it is that manual labor will gain a raise. It will have to, as education became affordable at all stages of your life. To keep you happy the wage will have to be raised. It should make for a lot of interesting effects once it is set into motion. And it might even make you have a phd while still preferring to work in the garbage profession :)

It will be a lot of fun. And make life a lot more interesting than what it is today.

It's just facts. You won't be able to avoid it, not when you start to try for some sort of equality and rights.  It won't abolish wars, it won't change instincts or base needs. It will just give them a better outlet, and maybe stop global warming.

Mr Trumps beloved North Korea.

" The UN estimates that up to 200,000 people are held in a vast network of gulags run by secret police, many of which are located near mining sites. A 2014 UN commission of inquiry report said the prisoners faced torture, rape, forced labour, starvation and other inhumane treatment. "

" Researchers analysing decades of data from 29 regions in Africa, Australia, North America and South America have found that sites that had fires every year had 63% fewer individual trees and 72% less basal area – a measurement which reveals the trees are much smaller – than places that never burned. Landscapes with fewer, smaller trees are likely to sequester less carbon. "

And how tricky it is to know what to plant, planning for a future

“Planting trees in areas where trees grow rapidly is widely promoted as a way to mitigate climate change. But to be sustainable, plans must consider the possibility of changes in fire frequency and intensity over the longer term,” said Dr Adam Pellegrini of the University of Cambridge, who is first author of the paper.

“If you plant trees that are not adapted for fire, those forests may sequester carbon for 20 or 30 years but you have to ask yourself how stable is that carbon?”

" The number of monarch butterflies that reached their winter resting grounds in central Mexico decreased by about 26% this year, and four times as many trees were lost to illegal logging, drought and other causes, making 2020 a bad year for the butterflies. "

Isn't all years bad years nowadays?
