Well, the game is about profits, inequality, and in the end about your wallet. It's also about keeping their own jobs, and yours. Changes are highly uncomfortable, insecure, and will hit economy and GDP. And the game doesn't go for sharing, it's not built on it.

The 'fabric' of society is a conservative force. And those that will protest most loudly are the ones with the most to lose by a change of this. And then there is the fact that it will create civil unrest, as the first to be hit, anywhere, will be the poorest and those working in those industries getting banned. Without sharing this is what you will see.

The game we play have its established routines. As when industrialization came, or the conveyor belt principle appeared in our industries. It may seem rapid in hindsight but it takes time. The game thinks that this is the way it works. Global warming will prove it wrong. We never meet anything like that.

And this is a laugh.

" The billionaire hedge fund manager Sir Chris Hohn paid himself $479m last year after his Children’s Investment (TCI) fund, recorded a 66% jump in pre-tax profits to $695m. It is believed to be the highest annual amount ever paid to one person in Britain and equates to £940,000 a day. It is 9,000 times the average UK salary and 1,700 times the amount paid to the prime minister, Boris Johnson.

Hohn is the biggest single donor to Extinction Rebellion on account of the “urgent need” for people to wake up to the climate emergency. “I recently gave them £50,000 because humanity is aggressively destroying the world with climate change and there is an urgent need for us all to wake up to this fact,” Hohn said in 2019. His charity is thought to have pledged a further £150,000. "

And so is this  " Coutts, the bank to rely on in a Covid crisis – if you're seriously wealthy "

You won't solve this through private initiatives.  Sir Chris Hohn may be ever so serious in his crusade about global warming, but he will still be one of those conservative forces defending the game, as will Bill Gates. And when it comes to Coutts ::)

Well, that's just a good joke.

I can put it this way. All affluent, or seriously wealthy, will consider it a matter of the state, the government, to correct global warming. As long as their own investments are safeguarded. That's their idea of 'sharing'.

This sounds good, doesn't it?   " An Iowa company is leading a $2 billion effort to capture carbon monoxide from Midwestern ethanol plants and pipe it to North Dakota where it would be buried deep underground. "

https://apnews.com/article/climate-climate-change-north-dakota-iowa-f5e0290271e0f366c25048c68470418a

From where do we get the materials?   http://lib.dr.iastate.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1070&context=abe_eng_conf

So what do we use it for?     https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/earth-and-planetary-sciences/ethanol

Aha, plastics? And as a fuel  mixture added to fossil fuels? Sanitizers?

how does that work, making plastics?

Well, it used to be this way https://www.alleghenyfront.org/this-is-exactly-how-natural-gas-gets-turned-into-plastics/

But, maybe you can do it this way too?
Ethanol to ethene. https://www.chemistryscl.com/ask_questions/Q/organic/how-is-ethene-prepared-from-ethanol/index.php

And  https://mogckchem.weebly.com/ethanol-production-from-ethene.html
=

had to correct it. All those chemicals :) and their names, so close to each other. Ethylene. ethene, ethane

Let's add this  https://www.chron.com/business/energy/article/DowDuPont-opens-massive-ethylene-and-plastics-12217420.php           from 2017

And here's a estimate of productions.   https://www.essentialchemicalindustry.org/chemicals/ethene.html

It's about biodegradable plastics. Let's assume that we won't use fossils for it any longer, plastics that is. How degradable are they?  https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/do-biodegradable-plastic-bags-actually-biodegrade-180972074/

And https://www.motherearthnews.com/nature-and-environment/environmental-policy/biodegradable-plastics-zmaz10jjzraw

And this may be true " Because oxo-degradable plastics are only degradable – not biodegradable or certified compostable –after the bio-additives have broken down traditional plastics remain. Even if the small pieces are microscopic, the plastic still exists and can easily enter the environment.  There are absolutely no benefits from using oxo-degradable plastics! "

But it's a funny formulation as there exist no, or very few, organisms that can degrade it into its chemicals in a nature. And if those organisms that can degrade it still leaves micro plastics then they are not a solution to the problem.

Do they?

Okay. We have found bacteria doing it.
How good are they at it?

" So, could Ideonella be used to devour the countless plastic bottles that are polluting the earth? Not really. According to the Kyoto scientists it took "6 weeks at 30°C [86º F] to fully degrade a thumb-nail-sized piece of PET.” While this may be faster than a crosstown bus in Manhattan, it's not even remotely close to being useful.  "

You could see it as a example of earths thinking, and definition of time, versus ours. She can and will break it down, but not on our time scale.

It will force you to change infra structures too. Because you will not want to otherwise. It will hurt you, your wallet, the game. and you need to change the whole idea of what makes earth work. It's not profits, it's sustainability.

And this one  https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/feb/28/the-leftright-divide-still-exists-but-its-struggling-to-escape-the-lure-of-identity-politics

Well written and interesting. We have something similar to this 'classlessness' in Sweden too.
Meritocracy and greed replacing it.
