Why? deep drilling Aquifers and receding groundwater, irrigation, industrial farming, global warming floods and droughts, combined with other environmental factors and pollution's.

It all joins up.

Well, whatever. It won't kill us, some may find a shorter lifespan from it, especially babies, but it won't stop us, not by itself. As a symptom of a wider disease it will though.

And yourself too of course. There's a reason why I call everyone a defender of this game, including us all. Any real change will change industries, transportation, relative wealth and economies, energy and your living standards. To take a few examples.
