Are women more heat-tolerant than men?

Preguntona asked the Naked Scientists:[/i]
Hi!
I've always found it a bit funny that my husband thinks my baths are too hot. My girlfriends and I were talking the other day and two of them mentioned that their male partners also think their female counterparts are crazy as they can tolerate higher temperature when taking a warm shower or handling hot pans.
Is it possible that female humans have higher tolerance to warm temperature? I so, would it be different from animals?
Thank you, newbielink:http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/

Women do have on average more fat than men so maybe you know, more insulation?

That's coincidence I think.
I'm male and can tolerate hotter showers and hotter pans than my girlfriend.

There is a lot of variation from person to person and place to place, especially with dependence on heating and air conditioning.
It might be interesting to see an actual research report... but you would need a better formulated research question.
BTW:
I test my spaghetti to see if it is al dente by reaching into a boiling pot with my bare fingers to grab a piece to test...

It is a standard, where man is always in hot water with their wife, from time to time.

I think so. Women are more heat tolerant than man. Usually men get irritated at hot temperatures. Men get angry easily and very impatient on hot environment. In my own observation, some of the women like to sleep in warm environment. My mother is one of them.
