Hi there,
I actually think that they indeed can manifest themselves that quickly...you need some blisteze or zovirax to give pretty quick relief.
Haing a 'Pash' is great ain't it ?

I'm not a medical type, but.... It is my understanding that your first exposure to the virus rarely produces a sore, and subsequent flare-ups usually take several days to produce a visible sore.
I could be wrong.

After just 30 min I think it's more likely to be an allergic reaction than a viral infection.

There are many different types of cold sores.
Frequently if I scratch the inside of my mouth, perhaps while brushing my teeth, a cold sore will develop at the place of the scratch, relatively quickly.
It may not be related to Herpes or CMV, or other "kissing" diseases.

That's an ulcer, not a cold sore.

Anyone who suffers with cold sore please note that taking lysine and seluim will reduce the amoutn of attacks you have. I have been taking this for some years and noticed a real difference. The suppliements help your imune system. I have passed this one to many people and they always come back and say that taking these suppliement have reduced to attacks.

I have tried just about every product/ice/natural cure/etc. Best thing I have found by far is viradux-coldsore. You just use it like a chapstick 4x per day and no more gross cold sores. I think it's fairly new. Hope this helps!

That's an ulcer, not a cold sore.
More specifically, it is commonly called a canker sore. It is caused when bacteria in your mouth gets in a cut that has formed-quite painful actually.
