Is my boyfriend allergic to me?
« on: 16/09/2013 15:37:14 »
Help! Every time I cuddle up to my boyfriend or things get intimate, he breaks out in hives on his chest and arms. I have changed make-ups, deodorants, shampoos, and soaps! What else can it be? Or is he allergic to me?! I have a dog which he is allergic to but the hives occur only when he touches me. Please help!

That sounds difficult.

I would encourage trying NO MAKEUP, Deodorant, Perfumes, etc.  Ivory soap is generally scent free.  Or, perhaps you could borrow soap, shampoo, and deodorant from your BF.  Don't forget laundry detergent.

Your dog may be a big issue as allergens may transfer from the Dog to you, and perhaps also to all your clothes.

Have you tried showering (at his place) immediately before getting cozy?  Perhaps store some post-shower clothing or bath robes at his place too (he can wash them).

Is he generally allergic to dogs, or just yours?  Cats?  Other People?

I am seeing a few notes on the internet about hypoallergenic dog breeds.  Cats too.  Apparently no dog is perfect, but perhaps your boyfriend might wish to encounter a poodle or something.
