Andrew B. Roberts  asked the Naked Scientists:

Do dogs get common viral colds?

Best Regards,

Andrew

There is a type of dog flu known as canine influenza, although it sound s like it is less common, with fewer serotypes than the corresponding flu in humans.

Apparently there is not a canine rhinovirus, although there is a feline rhinovirus.  However, it may be more related to the herpes virus.

There are a few viruses that do give dogs cold-like symptoms.
