I'm not sure about exercise in general. It sounds risky. Your muscles may have some anaerobic energy, but is there a risk of passing out?I've heard that it is considered dangerous to hold one's breath while lifting weights.
As far as high altitude training, Perhaps you could simulate it to some extent with reduced breathing ...
