A "Cock" as in Peacock refers to the male (which is the colorful one).
As opposed to the Peahen

Well, have a few white Peafowl up the road, and the regular coloured ones as well, both Peacocks and Peahens, who almost every morning rouse you at sunrise with the cries, and do the same at sunset. They also have competition with the Egyptian geese, who lay eggs on the rooftops, and the babies have a really big first step, the last lot I saw walk past did a 7 story drop from the roof they were on, and then had to cross a busy road as well, before getting to the pond at the park. Did have one adult get hit by a car, and CROW came and eventually got it to fix the wing and release it again.
