this article is from the timeshttp://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,803525,00.htmlMedicine: Auto-Allergy "Most readers got a big ha-ha out of the cartoon in which the doctor tells the little man he seems to be allergic to himself. Now, it appears, the joke is no laughing matter. Many unfortunates actually are allergic to themselves: i.e., to the chemicals such as sex hormones, insulin, adrenalin produced by their own bodies. In the current Journal of Allergy, Drs. Bernhard Zondek (famed co-discoverer of a standard test for pregnancy) and Yehuda M. Bromberg of Jerusalem's Hadassah University Hospital tell how they made hormone skin tests on 165 women, about half of whom were suspected of hormone allergy. Sure enough, 68 of them proved auto-allergic. Encouragingly, however, the doctors found that graduated shots of the offending hormones would cure 50% of the auto-allergies and markedly improve another 29%."Read more: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,803525,00.html#ixzz1BRDdIYyEthis article makes it sound like we have a 50% chance of being cured from auto allergies, but it also brings up another question. I hope Waldinger thought to test some of the other neuro-endocrine chemicals that are involved in the process of "O"ing. I feel like an auto allergy from a hormone or neurotransmitter might also be involved, based on a few experiences i have had that did not involve semen, and for the extremely long time that pois lasts. most allergies don't last very long from a single exposure.anyways, all i am saying is that i would like an immune specialist to also test me for auto allergies to my own neuro-endocrine chemicals besides my semen.lastly, constructive criticism set aside, THANK YOU DR. WALDINGER FOR YOUR COMMITMENT TO POIS, AND EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY RESEARCH.

It is even mentionned on some articles that it is faster and safer .Dr Waldinger states in his announcement that it could be dangerous if not done correctly!Thank you Demo ! As you know, I live in france and I suggest something ...I live nerby Paris and am able to go to the Nederlands to be cured there It is not far at all with the train nowadays, so the distance isn't a matter at all!As i feel my Pois improves fast and is going on complications... I would like to try the Intralymphatic Allergen Administration as a Cobaye in Prof Waldinger's hospital !I am ready to do that and as he said, it has to be well done and I don't know another better place than him to try this experience.I have full hope in this technic. What do you think about it?

I don't know if anyone already caught this, but its an article about POIS and Waldinger's latest studies.http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE70G00D20110117
yes, thank you Demo [] I know none of you can think by my place but it was more a suggestion to say : how can I contact directly Prof. Waldinger to talk about it? I saw he gave us his personal adress, so i will try my luck by sending him a mail on this adress! I have no fear to feel the Cobaye for this experience, let's hope he will talk about it with me []
I wonder if you had sex once a week for three years, that your system would finally find an anti-body?I don't suppose there's anybody that could do that!
Here are 2 crazy thoughts....If I kill off all my sperm will POIS end?If you have low sperm count or high sperm count does this affect the severity?I am sure its more complicated than this.... just a thought.PS.

More research is still needed. I still am interested in the hormonal theories because there's drastic hormone reactions during and after O.I may be barking up the wrong tree but until I've actually spoken with people that the cure has worked for I am not going to put all my eggs in one basket.
DR. W. says one of the symptoms is irritability, would this also mean angry, I am angry all the time, in my head I think why so angry, I do not want to be, I do not feel I have a reason to be, I am just angry. I try not to be, but I just am. Its gotten worse with time, I was never like this, I was always a very happy person.... I guess I will know if I become less angry once POIS is gone.... someday.PS.

Maybe in hopes that a medical professional is reading the article and wants to learn more about it?Good idea.Good idea but stupid trolls coming to the website posting jokes and fake pois problems, the comments on the articles are good enough. I agree with you. Let them joke. And let them stay there and far away from this forum. No. We should not be afraid of a few jokers. The overall public response has actually been fairly understanding, more than I thought it might be anyway. Many of the comments are sympathetic and understanding. Further, we want to make people who HAVE this condition aware of where they can get updates and support. We've already had quite a few people come to this thread... how many of them have joked about it? Basically none. We've had a couple snotty comments now and then but we survived and moved on.I say spread the word as much as possible, unless it is to a community that is clearly unhelpful.I agree with Counterpoints. We actually haven't had many people who have posted snotty comments here. This is because it takes an extra step of registering for a Naked Scientists user account to even be able to post here--so most people who just wanted to joke about it wouldn't take the trouble of registering. In contrast, it's much easier to dash off snotty comments on the news-story sites. So, I definitely think that it could be helpful for us to post on the comment section of the news-story sites, letting people know about our forum--as CP says, it could be especially helpful for actual POIS sufferers. (Actually, though, our site is the first site that comes up if you google pois+waldinger, and the second site that comes up if you google post orgasmic illness syndrome, and the fourth site that comes up if you google pois--so if people do any looking-up after reading the articles, they're likely to find their way here in any case.)
