They get it from ATP, the same as any other organism. The nervous system and muscles of living organisms already make use of charge-carrying currents via ions. The electric eel has simply taken it to the next level: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_eel#Physiology

The real question is how you plug them in. Mine came without instructions I don't know what voltage or charging current it needs.
