What is cognitive priming?
« on: 12/06/2018 15:27:13 »
Hi @evan_au!  :)

I would like to know what exactly is "neurocognitive priming" and how it works...

What do you think?

And let's see what WIKI has to say about NLP

You asked what cognitive priming was and I posted a video answering your question. It seems pretty straightforward to me.

And I was pointing out that  there's a lot of overlap between the people who believe in it, and a group who do pseudoscience.

That's not even an appropriate answer... I was looking for a written and perhaps more technical reply than simply spamming some random videos from nowhere.

@evan_au - I still haven't heard from you on this one so far!

Please continue your good work and tell me something I don't know about cognitive priming...

So you're saying, "I don't want to hear the answer, I want to read the answer." Are you seriously that much of a nit-picker? What's the difference whether you hear it or read it? It's the same information either way.

It may not be an appropriate answer to the question you wanted an answer to, but it's an answer to the question you asked.

It's nobody's fault but yours if you ask the wrong question.

"Cognitive priming" is an anagram of "Piercing Vomiting", "Notice Virgin Gimp",  "Vice Importing Gin" and "evicting groin imp".
I'm willing to bet you didn't know that.

This is incorrect bro... I only want to know what YOU know about this precise subject. I'm really not interested in hearing or reading stuff which doesn't come from you. I can use google for that.

If you ask "what do you think?" and someone posts a link as a reply then they have told you that they think the link is correct and/ or that their thoughts tally with those expressed in that link (unless of course they explain otherwise).

I'm afraid this is quite insufficient. I want and expect more creative content when you're contributing to a science forum.

Whereas the rest of the forum wants evidence based science.
So, why would your view prevail?
Perhaps you should set up your own forum, that way you get to make the rules for it, and  the rest of us can carry on doing science here.

Enough said.

Get back to me when you have an idea what you're talking about.

Starting to feel very tired of your patriotic nonsense!

You should find out what words mean before you use them.

Then you worded your opening post poorly. You stated, "I would like to know what exactly is "neurocognitive priming" and how it works...", which implied that you didn't know what it was and therefore wanted an explanation of what it was. I presumed that you wanted the right answer instead of a personal guess. If you were looking for our subjective opinions instead of the objective facts, then you shouldn't have said that.

This is undoubtedly the best example of a neurolinguistic programming experiment that I've seen on the internet this week. It worked almost perfectly! :)

So, the best NLP experiments point out that NLP is pseudoscience.
