For anyone that has read the Torah  the Sanhendrin is made up of elected representatives from each of the 12 tribes.

As far a new theory I would simply suggest that as the mixed multitude followed Moses out of Egypt and then entered into the 12 tribes at a start of Moses receiving the Torah that,

Today any newly formed Sanhendrin would have to represent all Jewish people to be valid, as such it seems most prudent to allow each of the different groups within the Jewish faith to become a tribe. The kataites as a tribes, beta-Israeli as a tribe, Hasidics as a tribe, so on and so forth until all the different Groups are accounted for and they really are tribes actually, when you think about it, they are often very tribal in their outlook and positions.

Once formed each tribe can elect representatives to be in the Sanhendrin from amongst themselves.

Of course I'm sure some Rabbinic Jews as an example would want a Sanhendrin that is only full of rabbinics and seek to then impose their ideas on all other Jews, and I'm sure there are members of every Jewish group that would want their type of Judaism imposed on all the rest, and that is simply little more then an egotistical power grab by those that would seek it, which isnt the point of the Sanhendrin.

It seems clear that the Sanhendrin were initially introduced to resolve problems local leaders could not resolve and as such those resolutions were for the people involved only; they were not meant to be decrees set for the entire Jewish people but meant for the parties in that case soley.

I would suggest any rules that the Sanhendrin would agree for the whole of the Jewish people would be extremely rare.

Justice found, is like a snowflake, and must be unique to each case, which takes a lot of consideration to truly find.

In many cases it is difficult to actually find a justice that brings peace to all concerned, it is often very hard to achieve, and takes serious deliberation.

Well firstly it's not religious nonsense. The Jewish people will reconstitution the Sanhendrin.

Secound as the Sanhendrin is effectively the supreme court of all the Jewish people, it has implications not just for Jews but for all who follow the God of Israel and broader society.

As an exploration within social science, or political science, I felt actually considering the best way to reconstitute the Sanhendrin could be fruitful.

Anyway relooking at the suggestion.

Deuteronomy 17.8 "If cases come before your courts that are too difficult for you to judge—whether bloodshed, lawsuits or assaults—take them to the place the Lord your God will choose. 9 Go to the Levitical priests and to the judge who is in office at that time. Inquire of them and they will give you the verdict. 10 You must act according to the decisions they give you at the place the Lord will choose. Be careful to do everything they instruct you to do. 11 Act according to whatever they teach you and the decisions they give you. Do not turn aside from what they tell you, to the right or to the left."

Exodus 18.25 and 26.

Reforming the Tribes.

We have the

Ashkenazi
Mazrahi
Beta Israeli
Sephardic

Hasidic
Karaites
Jews for Jesus
Orthodox
Reform
Conservative

So if they each elect 6 or 7 people to represent them, that's atleast 60 representatives and 10 tribes accounted for.

2 tribes left, yet maybe Mazrahi could be devided into east and west of Israel and that's 11, but alternatively there maybe another Jewish group missed to make.up the 11th.
Levi number 12 would be made up of members from all of the different groups, Levi is actually the easiest tribe to establish.

Then together representing all Jews, they can with 100% consensus,  start deciding, when the new month starts.

Start small.

Conservative

Are all actually by overwhelming mainly Ashkenazi.

Therefore they would have 4 tribes and members in LEVI.

So I suppose, it would be fairer to allow each group 6 members.

So that would be

mainly Ashkenazi

1.Hasidic   6 members
2.Reform    6 members
3.Orthodox 6 members
4.Conservative 6, members
Giving Ashkenazi 24 members total.
5.Mazrahi   7 members
6.Beta Israeli 7 members
7.Sephardic   7 members

8.Messianic 7 members
9.Karaites 7 members

10.LEVI made up from people from all of them, voting for 7.


Leaves two tribes to find.
