What is wrong with this picture?
Quote from: Jolly2 on 29/12/2020 19:23:42What is wrong with this picture?Your failure to understand that it's better than"Our factory is built on land that was once use by an endangered species of Lizard, AND WE AREN'T carbon natural".etc
So factories can destroy all natural habitats as long as they are carbon neutral?Factories can continue to pollute rivers as long as they are carbon neutral?
All living things degrade their environment. Get used to it.

Reminds me of an evening cricket match. Everyone spontaneously froze in position and stopped talking whilst a mole walked across the Sacred Turf. Once he reached the long grass, people started moving again and he disappeared downwards in a few seconds. The umpire said "you really have to be British to know the rules".
But seriously, chaps, I'm nagged about once a week by my electricity suppliers telling me that I can save the planet by letting them fit a "smart meter" that tells me that I am using electricity. Why? I can see if the light/cooker/television is on, and if I were blind I wouldn't be able to read the smart meter anyway. 90% of the stuff works when I want it to, not when the wind blows or whatever green alternative there may be, and the other 10% (heating pump, refrigerator) responds to matters entirely outside my control (i.e. the weather). If I'm welding, drilling, or dismembering my victim with a chainsaw, I need to keep my eyes on the job, not watch their cash register ticking over. It's just one more thing to go wrong, surely?
